New tax-advantaged account for kids under 18, created by the 2025 tax law. The $1,000 seed goes to U.S. citizen children born 2025–2028 with a Social Security number. Funds must stay in a low-cost U.S. stock index fund until the growth period ends (the year the child turns 17), after which the account is treated like a traditional IRA. The $5,000 cap is shared across all private contributors and indexes for inflation after 2027.
